Turkish Airlines holding onto their employees for 2 years is remarkable !

Turkish Airlines, the airline which has a flight network spanning to a 126 countries and 316 cities is the biggest Airlines in context to highest number of destination, has made it clear that they will be holding onto their skilled manpower until the end of 2021.

The COVID-19 lockdown has seen a lot of airlines laying their employees of or looking after how to reduce the manpower in correspondent to fleet size. The news of putting a hold to A380 by big airlines are well known. Turkish Airlines are looking after how to raise capital and planning new strategies.

The Airline is planning to reduce aircraft orders and selling or lease engines to minimize the overall expenditure of the company. It has also been noted that the airlines are planning in reducing in its flight network to have some positive effect on the budget.

Currently the Airlines holds more than 63,000 employees across all business units. There has been news of the Pilots considered as seconded to the air force temporarily until things come to normal.

Turkish CEO IIker Ayci told in an interview that they do not see the coming two years as the profitable years ahead. But the aim to protect the employees until the end of June. And their job is the protect or resist layoffs as much as they can.
