Andre A Commercial Pilot With CemAir In An Inspiring Power 4 Q&A

Growing up next to an international airport (It was called Jan Smuts Airport back then. It is now O.R. Tambo International) always drew Andre to the beauty and mystery of flight. He recalls saying to a friend of his, when he was just 12, that he’ll walk on the apron one day and wear an airline uniform. And as faith has it, he is now a Pilot at CemAir.

Our Special Episode of POWER 4 Q&A Session is here

1. Could you tell us what you love the most about your job?

Especially now during COVID, doing the repatriation flights and bringing families together was by far the most satisfying part of this job. To be associated with a company like CemAir is such an honor. It’s more family than anything else.

2. Your Experience in the aviation field?

Both Flight Attendant and Commercial Pilot currently moving on to the B1900 as First Officer. Started as a flight attendant with SAA. Used my S&T’s to do my PPL. Left SAA and started an Earthmoving company which in turn helped me get my Comm license. I hold both Flight Attendant and Comm Pilot

3. What has been the toughest part of your job?

Difficult to answer because if you do something you love and are passionate about, you never work a day in your life.

4. Any suggestions to future generations who aspire to be a Pilot?

Never stop dreaming!!! because without dreams so many wonderful things would have never come to be.

As we ended our Power 4 Q&A session. I couldn’t help but wonder about the last answer of Andre, “Never Stop Dreaming”. He has been a living example of it. Dream and work on it. Someday you will get there.
