“Flying is like a dream, it makes u feel free. It’s challenging in its own ways which is exciting” says Pilot Tanaya Vijayvargia. Living a dream life that everyone wishes but few aims for it and succeed. We at Aviation Read, bring to you a Q n A Session. Herewith us today is one of the aspiring pilots from the South Asian Region. Ms. Tanaya was born in the suburb of Ajmer City, Rajasthan. Always having the aim to reach the sky she is now currently enrolled in Spice Jet.

Q. What was the first destination you flew? What was the first flight like?
My first flight was in mehsana during my training days and as an airliner it was Hyderabad to belgaum.
Q. Are you Sometimes afraid of flying?
I wont say I never get afraid, I do, and I guess everyone does.
Q. What is the most beautiful destination you have flown?
The most beautiful destination I have flown to is Maldives. It is exceptionally beautiful especially from that altitude
Q. Did your family support you in becoming a pilot?
My family has been the most supportive. Even when I use to feel low during the down curve they were always there. They never doubted me. Their trust in me is the thrust and lift.
Q. What career path would you have chosen if you didn’t become a pilot?
I always wanted to be a fashion designer so it would have been that.
Q. What message would you like to deliver to young boys and girls who want to become a pilot?
For bidding aviators I’ll say it’s a bumpy road so be patient and consistent. U can cross all hurdles by keeping yourself motivated and by working hard.
Q. Are there any challenges to your profession?
Piloting should be a second name to challenges. Here everything is a challenge from sleeping to landings. But that is how it is u need to keep yourself ready to face it all.
Q. What would you like to say to an aspirant who says finding a job is almost impossible?
This field is very unstable, finding a job is difficult and it’s easy to loose hope. Just remember that after dark nights there are bright mornings. It’s a challenge and u can turn challenges into opportunities by optimism and peaceful thinking.
Q. Are you happy with your profession? How do you see your career progression in coming days?
I am happy with flying but things are pretty down in aviation so it’s all uncertain. Haven’t made any future plans yet. Presently I am just thankful of whatever I have.
Q. What changes have you found in yourself and the way people around you treat you after joining this profession?
I have definitely changed alot. I became alot more confident of who and howsoever I am. People respect you, guess it comes along with the uniform.
Q. Whats life like in this covid situation?
Due reduced flights I get alot of free time and I am using it to sharpen other skills like Cooking, designing and alot more.
Q. How hard was it for you to be a pilot being a girl? Do you felt any hardship along the way?
It wasn’t hard because of me being a girl and it’s because as I said earlier my family is very supportive. But other people do think that girls are not powerful enough to fly which is nowhere related. U don’t need power to fly anymore. The systems are very advanced nowadays. Women are advancing in all fields now so nothing is impossible just because u are a girl.
